Shake Shack Launches Korean-Style Gochujang Menu in the U.S. The shake itself features caramel toasted black sugar mixed vanilla frozen custard topped with whipped cream and black sugar syrup. The rest of the menu items include Korean-style Gochujang Chick’n Bites, Korean-style Gochujang Fries, and Black Sugar Vanilla Shake. Shake Shack collaborated with Chois Kimchi Co. The sandwich is held together between a potato bun for good measure. The Korean-style Fried Chick’n sandwich boasts a spicy-sweet gochujang glazed crispy chicken breast placed on top of white kimchi slaw. However, the chain is also offering a sticky, spicy, sweet, umami, fermented gochujang glaze. The latest offering includes kimchi, made from fermented napa cabbage, daikon radish, carrots, garlic, Asian pear, green onion, onion, and sea salt. The item draws inspiration from a trip the Shake Shack culinary team took to South Korea upon opening their first location in the country. The chicken used in the sandwich, as well as in another new menu item, Korean Gochujang Chick’n Bites, is fresh, antibiotic-free white breast meat that has been slow-cooked sous vide in a.
